8 months!!

Hola hola! What is up everyone? I hope you're all doing well! This week has been a week! It's been a little hard but still a good week! Some big things happened!

So basically our teaching area hasn't been the most bumping lately. Basically everyone's getting covid again and people aren't progressing so we've been having to use a lot of faith to drop people. We had to drop Pablo who's like our mexican grandfather and that was super sad! He's been taught by missionaries for a long time but he's basically like a conspiracy theorist and questions everything and he keeps the commitments we give him but he still has a lot of doubts and isn't really willing to change. It's sad but that's how la vida misional be sometimes...

Anyways some fun things that happened this week are that we got to do a blitz with the other sisters in our zone! Basically it was like team ups for 2 hours except all of you go to one teaching area and try to contact as many people as possible! It was really fun and we met this member who was also a sister missionary and she's an amazing example of sharing the gospel with everyone! Then we also had a lunch with Grandma Morgan, who is such a legend! She used to have the spanish sister missionaries up north in the mission live with her. I never got the chance to live in her home but my companion did and it was the sweetest thing ever that we got to go! It's so sweet everything she's done for the sister missionaries in this mission! So then some other things that happened were that we saw some man building himself a box to live in and it had wheels on it and an entire couch inside this mans was literally a genius what an absolute legend! Then we also decided we wanted sister missionary teddy bears because we have a full on build a bear in our walmart except it was way too expensive... so then we looked all over walmart and they didn't even have teddy bears but they had plush dinosaurs so we didn't end up getting anything but we dressed the dinosaurs up in baby clothes for fun! Super random but we're living our best lives here in Stockton!

I also hit my 8 months! So that's exciting! We went to this cute bakery called 85° to celebrate and it was pretty good! We got a lot a lot of chocolate! Then the day before it was my brother's birthday! I'm so excited for him! Not gonna lie though it was pretty hard to be away from my family that day. One thing I didn't expect about missions is that 18 months is going by fast but at the same time its a loooong time if you think about it! Like it's honestly crazy that I'm almost half way done but at the same time it feels like I have a loooong way to go! One thing I've been trying to remember is that our mission president told my companion one time is that "missions are supposed to be bumpy!" And its true! There are a lot of ups and downs! I am so grateful to be here though and I'm so grateful for all the people I've been able to meet out here and how much more my relationship with my Heavenly Father and the Savior has grown! Missions are hard but so far it's been worth it!!

Anyways I hope you all have an amazing week and as always reach out to me if you need anything or just want to talk! I will update y'all soon!

Love,
Hermana Clayton
